Edit The renfrew ferry, 1956

THE recent proposal that the Renfrew Ferry should alter its age-old course across the Clyde to stop at the Braehead Shopping Centre could breathe new life into the ancient river crossing.
There has been a regular ferry between Renfrew and Yoker for more than 500 years. Over that time the ferries evolved from rowing boats to chain ferries, then steam and diesel vessels.
The workers disembarking from this ferry would have loved a ride in the sports car.
